At Last! How President Jonathan Plans to Bring Back Our Girls!

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan may have
taken a bold step to solve the issue of the 234
missing Chibok girls.In a statement released
by the Secretary to the Government of the
Federation, Pius Anyim, the President has set
up a committee to proffer solutions on how to
get the girls back.But will this really bring our
girls back? Only time has the answers at hand!
Nigerian leaders are known for setting
up  committees and new  committees to probe
the current  committees! I hope this is not a
plan to distract Nigerians from the current
struggle of getting our girls back.We will all be
waiting to hear the outcome of the committee!

PRESIDENTIAL COMMITTEE ON THE RESCUE
OF THE ABDUCTED FEMALE STUDENTS AT
GOVERNMENT SECONDARY SCHOOL –
CHIBOK
As part of efforts to ensure successful
rescue of the abducted female students
of Government Secondary School
CHIBOK, the President of the Federal
Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele
Jonathan, GCFR, has approved the
constitution of a
Presidential Committee on the rescue
efforts for the missing female students.
The Committees whose work shall be
largely fact findings is charged with the
following terms of reference:
To liaise with the Borno State
Government and establish the
circumstances leading to the School
remaining open for boarding students
when other schools were closed;
To liaise with relevant authorities and
the parents of the missing girls to
establish the actual number and
identities of the girls abducted;
To interface with the Security
Services and Borno State
Government to ascertain how many
of the missing girls have returned;
To mobilise the surrounding
communities and the general public
on citizen support for a rescue
strategy and operation;
To articulate a framework for a
multi-stakeholder action for the
rescue of the missing girls;
To advise Government on any matter
incidental to the terms of reference.

Breaking News:- Fresh Attack In Maiduguri Road

Suspected members of the Boko Haram sect
have attacked again along the Maiduguri-
Beneshiek- Damaturu road on Thursday
evening. About ten commuters and motorists
were reported to have been allegedly killed.
An eyewitness who pleaded anonymity said:
“the gunmen suspected to have been from
Sambisa Forest enroute a new destination
attempted to cross over the busy road on
Thursday evening, and on sighting vehicular
movement, ordered drivers of two vehicles
to stop, and when the drivers refused, they
opened fire on the vehicles.
mmediately when the terrorists rushed to the
ill-fated vehicles, they opened fire on the
occupants before using knives to slaughter
ten of them. Some motorists upon sighting
the danger had to make u-turn and quickly
drove to Maiduguri, while others found their
way back to Beneshiekh and Damaturu,
where they reported the incident to security
operatives”.
Immediately the security operatives had a
gun fight with members of the sect. Some
members of the sect died while others fled
into the nearby bush.
A security operative however confirmed the
incident. He said “about 10 people were
killed while some vehicles were seized on
Maiduguri- Beneshiekh road by suspected
terrorists on Thursday evening”.
